Congratulations Jason Claricoates and Caroline James, The Dolphin, continuing with their streak of wins to take home Royal Perth Yacht Club’s Seafarer Marathon Trophy on Saturday.  The Dolphin lost just 7 points around a long ‘marathon’ course of 12-marks to win the trophy, prize voucher winnings and State Heat 1 pennant. An all-round amazing effort. The Royal Freshwater Bay fleet are hot on our heels with Xindi 8 pts, 2nd and Havana 3rd place, edging out Dalusional Troy and Frank Dalglish also 9 points lost, on a count back.

Among the handicap winners, was Kermit from MOFSC with our own Bernie Kaaks, expertly navigating for his daughter Jenni Sachs, who took home the winner’s voucher donated by Bayside Marine for 1st place.  Lone Star’s Garry Morrison and Amanda Watson won 3rd place voucher on handicap.

Next Week is the Clif Spence Memorial Trophy recognising one of our early champions. Cliff Spence and son John were champions of the early 1970’s on their boat Faesta, mum Alvine was a start team member.  John and wife Pauline delight in presenting the trophy every year and joining into the Saturday night results festivities and bell rings.
