We couldn’t have asked for a better day for the 7th round of Leeuwin Estate Midweek Keelboat Autumn Series that took place on our breathtaking Swan River. 🌀️ The gods of weather were generous, gifting us with a cool breeze and sunny skies. The winds were blowing from the south at 13 knots, and oh “bouy” (pun intended), did our skilled skippers take advantage of it! πŸŒ¬οΈπŸ‚
Slippery When Wet with Skipper Martin Softly was just that – super slippery and swift! They snagged the first place in Division 1, while Wicked, led by Andrew Colquhoun, was giving everyone a run for their money, coming in second. Not too far behind, The Avenue skippered by the legendary Len Randell gracefully took third place. πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯‰
In Division 1-ORC, it’s no surprise Wicked stole the show yet again! Maxstar with Graeme Monkhouse made an impressive show as well, sailing into second and Glen Thomas and his Problem Child finished third. β›΅πŸŽ–οΈ
Let’s give a shoutout to Carioca crew visiting from Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club led by Robert Freeth in Division 2 – they were on fire and took the top spot πŸ”₯ Jindarra with Rob Male was hot on their heels, grabbing the second spot. πŸ† Fair Game skippered by Dean Picot completed the podium.
In Division 3, Tembeya with Mark Landwehr sailed like they owned the river, taking the top spot, but Nick Melidonis on Hellas was not far behind and Col Delane on Eutopia finished third.
And finally, let’s tip our hats to the H28 division, where after a close match racing competition between two boats, Wynella with Glen Stanley got the first-place finish, leaving Bill Richards and his Swiftsure Saga in second🌟
Huge kudos to all the skippers and crew for putting on such a riveting spectacle! πŸŽ‰ A round of applause for the efforts, dedication, and sailing skills exhibited by everyone on the Swan River last week! πŸ™Œ
