Our Youth Transition program bridges the gap between OutThere Youth Sailing and our Club Training fleets as well as supporting our Junior Sailors in their transition into Youth Classes.

This group provides opportunities for teenage sailors with some sailing experience to develop intermediate skills before joining an advanced training group of their chosen sailing pathway. We also focus on providing experimental opportunities for existing sailors looking to transition from junior fleets into youth and senior pathway classes.

The Transition group is split into two fleets:

  • Double-handed pathway – with the use of our 29er XS rig, this fleet trains on Tuesday afternoons from 4pm – 6:30pm
  • Single-handed pathway – with the use of our Laser 4.7 boats, this fleet trains on Sunday afternoons 1pm – 3pm

Introduction to these fleets will be based on an assessment of skill and experience level to make sure the sailor is ready to make the transition.
