Pens & Moorings Update

As you would have read the Pens & Mooring Committee have been working to make improvements to the pens and moorings policies. In recent months, the Committee has reviewed and updated the shore power policy that will take effect from 1 April 2019.

Shore Power Policy

One of the major issues within the Club’s facilities is that shore power cables are not being tested and are not showing current tagging. This causes a concern for other vessels in the marina as they run the risk of the power tripping out resulting in no power to their vessels. To try and overcome this, the Pens & Moorings Committee have changed the Shore Power Electrical Policy to include one complimentary test and tag per vessel per year when you take your shore power lead in to Doug at Fire & Electrical Services which is located at Coffee Point Marine Services. The shore power lead will be tested to AS/NZS 3760 and will be fitted with the Club’s electrical tag.

If you are unable to get your shore power lead to Doug at Fire & Electrical Services located at Coffee Point Marine Services for any reason, the Club can organise this for you for a small fee of $50.00 inc GST. To arrange for the Club to get your shore power lead tested and tagged please email with your vessel name and pen number.

For those wishing to read the policy, it is available in the members portal under the ‘Policies and Operational Plans tab’.

Please note:There will be a three (3) month grace period after which those cable not compliant will be disconnected from the club’s shore power as per the shore power policy guidelines.

Many thanks,

Brian Cross
