Open Day
We had a great Open Day last Sunday. I wanted to thank all of the coaches, volunteers, parents, sailors, staff and committee members that came together to make it run super smoothly.
This is what we want more of and it looked like everyone enjoyed the chance to give back and help out.
Lots of non-sailing people were given the chance to see what our sport has to offer.
Out There Sailing
This program is running well on Friday afternoons and we will soon be expanding for the Adults.
The program includes experiences on:
- Stand Up Paddle Boards (Great for balance, exercise, wave appreciated and just fun)
- Windsurfing (Advanced feel and just fun)
- Hobie Wave (An easy, safe and fun start to sailing)
- Keelboat in the BW8’s (Teamwork)
For Adults we now have enough numbers on the expression of interest forms and will most likely be running in two scenarios:
- One for parents of sailors, while they are at the club anyway.
- For new people after work or other weekend slots, when resources are available.
Teams Racing
Well done to our Opti Team racers who represented SoPYC at the State Teams Racing Opti Championships. You can’t win them all, but luckily our sport always has other opportunities.
How good is the new beach without the drain and rocks in the middle. Straight away the full beach is being utilised.
