Frank Dalglish the donor of the trophy is the patriarch of a “dynasty” we all know well. Between Frank and Barb and their sons Troy and Paul, since the 1980s, the Dalglish family have been involved in almost every section and every role of our yacht club. These include serving at the top as Commodore, Management Committee, CPYC, Past Commodores Assoc. President, both Sailing and Power Start teams, Captains and Flag Officers, Pens and Moorings portfolio among just a few. Before presenting the trophy to this seasons winners, Frank explained he’d retired and sold the Auto business however would be proud to continue to sponsor a Dalglish trophy. Our Club and section gratefully recognise the “Dal Dynastys” contribution and commitment.

36 teams took part in the event in near perfect conditions. The start box radio checks were entertaining prior to the race start and provided a few good laughs. The course once again took the fleet out the channel down Knot and Quarry in the 8-knot zone near the brewery, then back across the river to Deepwater and Applecross then home via Heathcote. The start team were in full swing with 12 checked marks, contributing for the higher than usual scores.
