It was no surprise when Dalusional, skippered by Troy Dalglish was announced the Power Time Trialing Champion at Prize Night presentations on Saturday evening. Troy with  navigator Dee Kelly competed in every event during the season, fighting off strong competition, sharing the least points flag with PC Guy Skinner and Richard Evans (Thanet) or John and Lynne Cooper (Purrfect) on 6 occasions. This tight competition played out in final results with Thanet runner up and Purrfect 3rd on a count back for the 400 numbers.

The Aub Berryman Trophy for Starts and Finishes was a similar result with Dalussional and Thanet tied for first and Purrfect in 3rd place. Troy capped off a stellar season also winning the CPYC State Heat Series and 3 of the 5 invitation events.

By contrast, there was audible gasps and cheers across the ballroom when North Star skippered by new time trialling team of Jason Claricoats and Caroline James were announced the 401 Consistency Champions. Another new team of Darryl Wilkes and Mary Vukovich onboard Out on Business were 2nd and Purrfect 3rd on Consistency. Jason and Caroline were also recently recognised at CPYC State level as runners up for best new skipper.

Results for all trophies in these categories are based on the competitors best results in 11 of the possible 16 events this season.  Trophies for  Best First Year and Most Improved were won by North Star and Out on Business respectively. There are only 2 trophies awarded for just a single event or score. The Meavana Trophy for the MOST points went to new Rear Commodore Michael Cook and  Maria( M&M’s) with 601 points.  By comparison the ZERO points  Bryan (B.C.) Carter trophy was awarded by Bryan himself to Brett Morrison (Sunhunter). This represents the “holy grail” of time trialling and been awarded on only 6 previous occasions in its 24 year history, 3 of those to the Trophy namesake Bryan Carter.  Congratulations to all the winners.

Another highlight of the evening was the premiere of the new Time Trialling marketing DVD.  The 10 minute professional video production includes images and drone footage of many of our Power Section Members in action. The video is a marketing tool to showcase our Time Trialling sport at Open Days, Camping & Boat shows, to encourage power boat owners to join in the fun and competition at SoPYC.
