The South of Perth Yacht club would like send their congratulations to the Olympic Laser Gold medallist Matt Wearn and to Nia Jerwood and Monique De Vries, the Australian women’s 470 sailors whose parents are current members at SoPYC.
The club was fortunate to have them at the recent Goolangatup Sailing Carnival last summer and of course they added that fillip to the Carnival with numbers of youngsters thrilled to have world class sailors right alongside them on the river.
The club would also like to acknowledge the hard work from all the Australian Sailing team and the personal sacrifice that they have made to get to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics during this period of Covid-19.
