The trophy was presented by Matt Lindgard, Graeme’s Grandson and long-time junior member. Matt was accompanied by his father, Gary. In his speech, Matt had a special message for our members on behalf of his grandmother, Julie. Matt warned of the peril of ignoring bowel cancer screening, the disease which unfortunately Graeme succumbed to at only 62 years of age.

Next week it’s time for the ladies to take to the course, for the Ladies Luncheon Trophy for Lady Skippers. The nomination sheet was travelling around the bar and filling up with eager ladies. We all know Judy Bailey and Victoria are the ones to watch out for as past winners. The lady does not have to be the usual navigator, but of course can be. She does not need a Skippers ticket as long as someone on board has one.

So please, track down a willing lady skipper and get involved. It is lots of fun and there are usually lots of tales to tell afterwards. Please nominate by contacting the On Water Group – OWG

Who will take the honours in 2023 and be presented with the beautiful dancing dolphin glass trophy, sponsored by Our Ladies Lunch Group??
