2023 Ron Tough Awards
We had an amazing time at the Perth Dinghy Sailing Club for this year’s Ron Tough Awards!
It’s always great to see our WA sailing community come together to celebrate achievements and support our emerging talents.
Big shoutout to the Ron Tough Yachting Foundation! They’ve provided over $1,000,000 in grants since 1980 to help develop sailing excellence in Western Australia.

The event was a blast with over 150 people from the Perth sailing community, including an inspiring talk from America’s Cup legends Andy Feathers and Graeme Spence!
Also, big thanks to SOPYC member and Ron Tough Foundation Governor Cliff Lawrence, Head Coach Denis Jones (a past Gold Medal winner) for representing our Club at the event, and all the sailors, coaches, volunteers and staff from other Australian Sailing – WA WA Yacht Clubs for supporting the sport of sailing in WA!
What a fantastic night celebrating dedication and passion in our sailing community! Let’s keep up the great work, and we can’t wait to see what our sailors achieve next!
