S80 Club News

Fair Game has taken on the S80 Association races this season and has sailed well in the Metropolitan Series – which is the opening day at each of the major river sailing clubs.  Fair Game finished the series fourth overall and third on handicap – well done Dean, Sue & crew!

The first South Perth S80 Club Series race was held on Saturday with Shadow fax helmed by Mark taking out 1st and fastest despite some impressive prawn trawling at Dolphin East.  Up Front with invitation helm Dave Roberts skippering aided by Con Macarlino on main was just 12 secs behind.  Fair Game came in third with Dean off the pace having decided to fly a #2 jib.

The S80 Sailor Development Program is now underway with a Spinnaker Handling course to be followed by a Racing Skills course.  Both are fully booked with club sailors from all divisions keen to improve their skills.

There are some competitive S80’s up for sale to anyone who wants to race them at SoPYC.  100% of Up Front and a 1/3rd share in Glasgow Kiss.  Both are well set up and ready to race.  So if you are interested in racing why not become an owner in an S80 and share great yachting enjoyment in a one design fleet.  Contact S80 section rep:
