It was bell rings all round with two winners of Least Points and the Ray D Carter trophy tied on 7 points. Visitor Marlene Carter, presents the trophy each year in memory of her father Ray, who she told the members, joined the Club in 1964 after selling the farm to move to Applecross and buy a power boat. 23 teams competed in the event over the course with 8 marked check points.

Congratulations Purrfect, experienced and consistent team of John and Lynne Cooper and Dalusional with equally experienced skipper, Commodore Troy Dalglish and first-time navigator, Justine Barron keeping up the run of least points wins for Dalusional. This season Justine has been a guest onboard Dalusional with Victoria and Troy. Great job Justine, standing in for Victoria this week, who was interstate for work, getting to hold the trophy too. Purrfect also collected the Port fleet 2nd place pennant.

It was double celebration on the Mancini-Stevens bar table at results with first place fleet wins in both fleets for Claude and Liz Mancini onboard Legacy and Morrie and Chrissy Stevens, with assistance from Steve Leech, onboard Wolfpack. Possibly Julie and Steve onboard was a distraction, as Chrissy from Wolfpack also picked up the Bent Prop award $100 voucher, donated each week by Wilson Marine 7-day Chandlery, for leaving her fenders out… Whatever the reason, Morrie scored an amazing 8 points lost around the course!

Fiona Lyons demonstrates she is well up to the task of navigating for team Thanet, while Richard Evans and Fran are on vacation, proudly collecting a second pennant with skipper PC Guy Skinner with a handicap score of 15. Thanet lost 8 points for the course, also not far behind the winners.

Congratulations father and daughter team Indiana, Brian Smith and Emma, last minute fill- in for Mum, Tina who is recuperating from a busy week. Indiana received a third flag in the Port fleet this week. Lone Star Garry Morrison and Amanda Watson were awarded 3rd place in the Starboard fleet.

Next week is State Heat 4. The fleet are competing across the river at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.  Good luck team and reminder to nominate by 5pm tomorrow with the links sent in email from OWG Admin Matt.
