Covid restrictions scuttled plans for Linfox Trophy sponsors Justin and Helen Taylor from visiting from Melbourne. Sadly, with the clubhouse closed there were none of the usual post event presentations, announcements, bell rings and congratulations. Then a Sportspage network upload glitch, meant a long nights wait before results were emailed to every competitor on Sunday morning.

Congratulations Anton and Kelly Jennings onboard Magnifique Too, with a score of 8 in the Port fleet to win first place and for narrowly edging out Wolfpack, Morrie Stevens and Tom Armstrong, 9 points, in Starboard fleet to win the Linfox trophy. Congratulations Anton and Kelly, with Maria Cook onboard maybe was the good luck charm.

25 competitors started in the event on a course with 9 checked marks and a long leg with 2 transits back from Lucky Bay to Sampson. 11 competitors scored single figures with Dalusional and Amazon each with 3 points sharing the least points flags.

Notable score was a 10 scored by new time trailers this season, Graeme Mackay and Rhonda Marinovich on Taj who were rewarded with a second flag in Port fleet. Another team to watch out for.

Fingers crossed that it’s all systems go for this weeks Frank Dal Trophy and lots of other results too, with eased restrictions hopefully allowing our usual rowdy camaraderie and results.

Another reminder to speak with family and friends to book for a fun packed, family friendly, night out with Festive themed food and drinks, games, prizes and live entertainment.
