The wind was cool, the water cold but the soup was hot (potato and leek) making perfect autumn conditions for the first of our Schweppes Applecross Cup winter regattas. Some of the 10-boat fleet were keen to try out some new gear and train for the World Championships later this year and some felt like they had done enough gardening in the offseason and needed a sailing fix.
Greg and the almost healed Jen were the official winners on the day in Spot the Difference due to some consistent sailing and the non-nomination of a quite capable former World Champion. Karen and Russell (Second Breakffast) were second and Philippa and Dean from Freshie were third in Ffirefly. Full results on the club website as usual.
Next month the Flying Fifteens sail on the 23rd but volunteers are needed for the 9th of June when the other half of the centreboard fleets have their turn. Please contact the On Water Group to put your name down.
