Eun-na-Mara and Yimbala

The Eun-na-Mara and Yimbala events will bring the sailing and power sections of the Club together in a pair of light hearted events, allowing each to appreciate the attractions of the “other” side and enjoying each other’s company in a social setting.

The Eun-na-Mara Race will be run in conjunction with the regular twilight race on Wednesday 23rd February, the only difference being that participating boats will be helmed by power boat skippers. The result will be on a handicap basis to allow a fair contest between differing craft.

The Yimbala Time Trial will be run two days later on Friday 25th February on a short course around Melville Water East. Power boats will skippered by the yacht owners who competed in the Eun-na-Mara Race.

Each yacht will have its normal sailing crew and each power boat will have an experienced navigator on board.  One of the benefits here is that some of the yacht crew may join in on time trialling boats to observe their skipper in action!
Afterwards on both days, it is hoped that sail and power teams join together for the announcement of results and some good, old-fashioned fellowship.
