Trophy Sponsors, proprietors and Club Members, Carl and Sharon Segreto of R Marine Mandurah were very popular with members, when they shouted the bar for an hour after results! With Captain Dave and Vice-Captain Doug on the mic, there were plenty of raffle draws, dinner and jug voucher give aways and smiles from John and Leesa Spanos collecting the Bent Prop $100 Wilson Marine voucher, before the results.

Results from 3 events being announced, gave plenty of opportunities for winners to ring the bell and for John and Leesa to also pick up the days wooden spoon port for a score of 104!  John lost 39 points at Outer Dolphin, but amazingly finished with just 2 seconds late at the finish. Great recovery Accrewed Interest!

With Commodore and other flags apologies for the results and presentations, it was left to Rear Commodore Troy Dalglish to fill most of the roles, including winning first place on handicap, least points lost and the R Marine trophy and accompanying Riviera goody pack. Carl explained the trophy will be renamed SMG Trophy from next season as he and Sharon move away from their Riviera dealership in Mandurah to concentrate on SMG, Specialised Marine Group, in Canning Vale with a view to service all sectors of the marine and boating industry.

A very small fleet of only 18 boats started from the 23 nominated boats. Maybe some not making it out due to the choppy blustery conditions in the afternoon. The course took the fleet around MWE twice, passing the outer start buoy for the start box eagle eyes check point crew to score another check from up in the box, to make 13 checked marks.

Steve and Diane Clarke on The Board Room returned to competition to show they have lost none of their competitiveness, finishing second to Dalusional on a count back with a loss of 9 points, matching Dalusional’s 16 points on handicap. Kris and Amy Townend on Manduco picked up the 3rd place flag with 20 points. Only 3 teams scored under 10 points lost being Dalusional 4, Thanet 6 and The Board Room, 9 points lost.
