Entries are coming in slowly for the new season 2020-2021. Sailors that haven’t already nominated their boat for the season, are asked to look at this at their earliest opportunity in readiness for the 75th Opening Day on Sunday 4th October 2020. Entry details can be found further down in the newsletter. Hardcopies of the new Red Book are now available and can be collected from the On Water Group office. The Notice of Race and the Schedule of Events for the 2020-2021 season are already available online under Race Documents on the website. Please note that Yacht Safe only takes your Equipment Audit Form and the usual TopYacht online entry system is where boats need to be nominated for racing.

Remote Control Yacht Racing
There is a regular group of Members who meet each Friday afternoon at 3pm on the Western Hardstand for a couple of hours of intense racing and camaraderie.
Visitors are warmly welcomed to sit and watch or even give it a go. You only need to ask.
To register your DF95 yacht for racing, simply use the entry button below and select the Singlehanded classes section.
E-Racing
Now there really is something for the armchair sailor. Join us each Thursday starting at 2pm for some close short racing online. New sailing venues each week:
Aarhus Auckland Cagliari Copenhague Cowes Fecamp Hong Kong Kiel La Trinite sur Mer Marseille Newport Palma de Mallorca Porto Cervo Portsmouth Rio Janeiro San Francisco Sydney
Equipment Audit Forms
Skippers, please note that your Equipment Audit Forms have now expired as of June 30. To be eligible to compete in the new season starting from Opening Day on Oct 4, a new Equipment Form must be submitted online. Most, if not all Skippers have had their previous Audit form submitted online via YachtSafe already, so it should be relatively easy to resubmit a new form in time for your first race of the new season and the good news is that you can view your previous form in Past Audits on your YachtSafe dashboard.
Yacht Trackers
On Water Group are trialing yacht tracking software that is capable of tracking all boats in an event via an App. We are looking for just a few boats to add to Keelboat racing, currently Midweek and Frostbite races. If you interested and don’t mind taking your electronic device with you on the water, please let us know. It is envisaged that every race can be viewed from the Club’s website and replayed at anytime.
Australian Sailing Club Conferences
The conferences bring together clubs from across the state and are a great way to engage with other clubs and AS. Hear from industry experts and learn from your peer clubs as they share success stories and best practice ideas that can help develop skills, capacity and further improve your club.
Australian Sailing is making our annual Club Conferences accessible to all this year. By cancelling the physical attendance components of each state’s Club Conference, we will be delivering a national agenda online instead. In order to help those who still have concerns about travel and mass gatherings at this time, this more easily accessible format will be run this year only.
We have now come to the end of this series of Australian Sailing webinars. We hoped you have gained some insight on best practices from around the country and come up with some new ideas for your club and class. Please see 2020 Club Conference – Australian Sailing Update below.
