The Cruising Section had a fantastic inland Cruise down to Bremer Bay for the second year in a row with our partners down at Naturlist Charters. We had an incredibly special day last year, and 30 percent of our party came this year for a second time. So you can imaging it was amazing last year… and this year was even better!

The crew from Naturalist Charters on board Alison Maree all expressed that the day on the water was the best day out they had experienced in 3 years. Calm water often equate to a lack of engagement with the Orcas, and we had the total opposite.

Great new friendships were formed, existing mates had a great laugh, and everyone came together for quite the weekend. Good food, good wine, and what I’ll describe as the best wildlife experience in Australia combined to give all those attending a weekend to remember.

Special thanks to Vice Captain Paul Stott for organising the weekends activities.

We will definitely run this weekend again in 2024, and we’ll be sharing videos and images on the big screen in the members bar over the course of the year. I strongly recommend that you book yourself in as early as possible, as the team at Naturalist Charters limits the number of people on board to 60 for a trip to Bremer Canyon.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event. I’m happy that so many of our members are enjoying the Cruising Section events and forming great friendships.

See you at the next event.
