Santa’s sleigh could not have handled the generosity of our Ladies Lunch Group this week. In an extraordinary lunch aimed directly at supporting the Path of Hope Charity, which cares specifically for women and children who are doing it tough, it was hoped that some of our ladies might bring along a gift or two.
What happened on the day was incredible. A huge pile of new, unopened presents was donated by our ladies. Yacht Club staff, urged on by our receptionist Maree, were equally generous in their support, their donations adding significantly to the Ladies.
The Ladies Luncheon Committee would like to thank Mary-Anne Reid, who unfortunately couldn’t make it on the day, but found the time to make and drop off her condiments, presented on a lovely plate, donating all the money made to the cause, and while her contribution was spectacular, we should pay tribute to all the stall holders and DJ Di for their contribution to what was a very successful day indeed.
There is no Ladies Lunch in January, but we’re back in earnest from February onwards, with an array of guests already lined up to pique your interest.
In hindsight, we should pay tribute to the Club catering staff that provided us with some great meals during the year.
So, thank you, ladies for supporting your Lunch Group each month. They’ve been interesting and have set the tone for an even more successful 2023.
