Club Championship heats 3 and 4 brought out 18 boats and produced some great racing and some very tired sailors by the end of the day. Mike and Paul ( Ineffable ) and Greg and Nick ( The Answer ) tussled at the front all day to share the honours. They were kept honest by Tim and Plonky ( Ffollow Us ) and John and Matt ( Fast Lane 4 ) having their first sail for the season.

Consistency results were shared all over the fleet and notable for Carl and Kristine ( Faffin ) winning the first race and accordingly ringing the bell. The happy crew were presented with their pennants by Vice Commodore David with the freshly minted Rear Commodore Clive looking on.

A recent past Commodore used last season’s sailing instructions to sail his own version of “Course 2” with the result being an unwelcome DNF but a welcome tray of port !

Briefly harking back to last week, and remembering the breeze was somewhat brisk, did anyone see Neil White make an unscheduled exit from Aussie Way following a gear failure ? No ? Seems that Kim ( his skipper ) didn’t either and it was left to the ever vigilant rescue boat crew to retrieve the, now soggy, class measurer.

No sailing scheduled for Flying Fifteens next Sunday but we are back on November the 20th for 2 more Club heats.
