Meet Our Interim General Manager – John Pedretti

I had the privilege of meeting Interim General Manager John Pedretti last week and if first impressions count for anything, I left feeling a bit sad that we only have him for a few months.

A welcoming smile always helps to put people at ease, and our short conversation was informal and relaxed.

John’s background makes it clear that he is extraordinarily well educated and a capable, high achieving general manager.

His first university degree, earned at Edith Cowan University, was rewarded with Honours in Molecular Biology. John then left Australia to pursue opportunities in the UK. In addition to filling a number of management roles, he also found time to complete not only a Masters degree but also post graduate studies. He recently returned to Western Australia.

In the past two weeks, John’s consultative style in working with his staff is already starting to pay dividends and hopefully will empower them to achieve their goals, both for their own personal development and for the Club.

The Management Committee has employed John on a three-month contract. He does not come from a background of “not-for-profit” organizations but his track record as a high level manager made his selection attractive.

He has already engaged with staff and many of our members and is looking forward to the possibilities that he can bring to the Club.
