To cater to all levels of sailing experience, we are currently running two Learn to Sail courses, one for Dinghy sailing skills and one for Keelboat sailing skills.

Our Dinghy Courses are sailed on the club RS Quests which are a Dinghy, Keelboat Hybrid. It creates a fantastic platform for those who have no background experience in sailing to learn the foundations of sailing in a highly responsive boat. The boat is designed to be able to sail with either a Symmetrical or A-Symmetrical spinnaker as well as a trapeze. This allows us to teach the foundation skills of all of these areas in the Spinnaker Course.

The RS Quest fits 2 adult sailors and an instructor on board.

Our Keelboat Courses are sailed in the club BW8 Keelboats which are fantastic for entry-level Keelboat sailors. These courses are designed to take those who have some sailing experience and teach them the specifics of Keelboat sailing including all the roles on board and eventually, the skills of sailing a Keelboat with a Spinnaker in the Spinnaker Course.

The BW8 fits 4 adult sailors and an instructor on board.

What’s Next?

What’s Next?

Those who have completed the Learn to Sail Courses and would like to take your sailing further, the next course for you is the Spinnaker Course. We offer these courses when there is demand, so please pop in an EOI for the Spinnaker Course and we will reach out.

There will also be many opportunities to race on other club boats.

If this is something that interests you, please contact: [email protected]

All of the boat equipment, life jackets, and sailing gloves will be provided. Please wear sun-protective clothing, a warm and waterproof jacket if it’s cold, and closed in shoes. The BW8 yachts keep you reasonably dry, but you can get some water splash on windy or rainy days. The RSQuests are launched off the beach and can tip over, you are likely to get a little wet while learning how to sail these so we recommend to wear a wetsuit or clothing able to get wet.
