Flying 15s: 3rd February 2025

It’s hard to imagine ever getting tired of sailing in the champagne conditions that greeted sailors on Sunday. A fleet of sixteen boats and just enough wind and shifts to make a great display of one design racing. Things went mainly to the script for the championship results with Nick and Richard (Thomas) winning by not much from Mike and Paul. Having a fleet of sharpies charge through the fleet as we neared the finish caused a bit of a shuffle in the lesser placings and Carl and Kristine (Faffin) took the opportunity to cool off during an impromptu tack that nearly gave the windex a wash as well!

Grant and Ebony (pictured) sailing Saltheart are waiting for their handicap to catch up with their improving form and notched up another win on consistency in the first race and Andy and Anne shook off some first-race blues to win the second race.

The sailing for next weekend starts on Saturday afternoon with the first 4 races of the Tally Hobbs Regatta which will include visitors from down river and, possibly, Port Bouvard. Mary-Anne has a fair grasp on the catering side for Saturday night so plan accordingly.
