This form is to be used to check that your vessel will meet the safety requirements set down under the Navigable Waters Act 1958, other items required by SoPYC, and will ensure that you and other members vessels are safe while using the club facilities.
Should you need the aid of the Pens & Moorings regulations to see if you are compliant, please use the Pens & Moorings Regulations download link to open the regulations.
It is specifically drawn to your attention that the issue of a Marina Compliance Certificate signifies only that the relevant craft complies with the Marina Compliance rules of the Club. The Certificate does not indicate that the vessel meets any standard of seaworthiness, neither will it infer that the vessel is safe for use in either protected or unprotected waters.
None of the Club, its Officers, employees, members or Marina Compliance Inspectors will incur any liability whatsoever as a result of loss or damage resulting from any person relying upon the issue of a Marina Compliance Certificate as being indicative of the general safety of the vessel operated on the river or at sea.
I understand and acknowledge that should my vessel not meet the minimum requirements, when being checked by a Marina Compliance Inspector, that my vessel will need to be returned to its original location. The vessel can then return to SoPYC for a second check to make sure the minimum requirements not previously met have been rectified. Once marina compliance has been passed, the vessel may enter the pen allocated.
