Eu Na Mara Yimbala
The Eun-Na-Mara & Yimabala events are our club's joint effort in integration between two of our most prominent facets; Keelboat racing, and PowerYacht Time-trialing. Bringing together these two sections provides great club spirit and a chance for those eager and daring enough to show their skills off in another discipline. Skippers from each section are matched up and given the chance to lead their partner and share in the experience.
The purpose behind these two trophies was to improve the camaraderie between power and sailing members. They celebrate the memory of Norm Cocks, who at one time owned both Eun-na-Mara (which was a very active competitor in both river and ocean races) and Yimbala, a regular time-trial competitor.
These events have evolved over time to suit the membership, but its current iteration see the opportunity for individual cross-section skills to be shown, as well as teamwork, represented in the 3 distinct awards for this event.
