Christmas Day is but weeks away or, for those counting the days, from tomorrow, 16 days’ away. The Christmas New Year Trading Calendar is to be found towards the end of the newsletter. The final Chase the Ace draw for the year is Thursday 17th December 2020. Chase the Ace resumes on Thursday 5th January 2021. Sailing wraps up on Saturday 19th December and recommences on Saturday 16th January, 2021. The Goolugatup Sailing Carnival, so very generously sponsored by Ron Tough Foundation for all Western Australian Classes, commences on 4th January 2021 and runs through to 14th January. If you haven’t nominated, we encourage you to so in coming days: there’s something for everyone!

Soundings will be distributed to members by the end of the week. It will be available to members as a digital magazine rather than the traditional printed format. This will be available on the web site via a link on the front page. The final Coffee Pointers for the year will be on 22nd December and it will include a link to Soundings. There has been a digital version of Soundings on the web site to accompany the printed issues for some time in support of the decision of the House Committee last year to move to a couple of digital issues each year and one printed issue. The Year Book will be a printed publication.

Finally, as a reminder, SafeWA Registers came into force on Saturday 5th December. All members, staff and guests must sign in when attending the Club. This can be done through the SafeWA App, downloaded from your phones App and then scan the posters located around the Club. There are also paper versions of the Register available throughout the Club and function rooms. Staff will happily help members with downloading the App if their assistance is required. The registers are held for 28 days and then destroyed.

Recent notices in the newspaper and social media are reaching further into our Yacht Club community. As families and friends gather for Christmas festivities, please remind older and past members and friends of our upcoming Reunion and Afternoon Tea on Feb 14th.

The foyer panels displays will be updated soon, featuring the period 1958-1970. The Archive Group appreciate the positive comments from members and visitors.

Identifying people in the 75 year old images is becoming more difficult, please help us by showing and asking elderly relatives, if they recognise any the faces.
