SILENCE PLEASE!!!

Whilst acknowledging that the continued swapping of Presentation locations around the building is not ideal (and the cause of some of the extra noise at these times), a respectful silence would be appreciated when competitors are receiving their pennants and prizes.

Your co-operation with this request would also be greatly appreciated by Flag Officers and recipients of awards.

Following a tasty BBQ breakfast and a safety meeting for volunteers we were finally able to conduct another Sailability session last week. The weather was kind to us and our participants were able to have an enjoyable morning’s sail on the Swan River.

The Sailability sponsor of the week is Healthway who supply a grant to assist us to pay for the costs we incur to continue to provide the service to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. For example the funds are used to purchase life jackets, maintain our fleet of boats, first aid courses (see photo below), crane operators courses, rent of hardstanding pens from SoPYC, facilities and service fees paid to SoPYC for its own assets and replacement of safety equipment.

Sailability at SoPYC is run by a group of dedicated club members and active volunteers every Wednesday morning giving participants each week the joy and experience of sailing.

We have a waiting list of people wanting to sail but are we limited by not having enough volunteers to assist us. Volunteers are always welcome – contact Liz on 0419 949 006 or email sailabilitysopyc@gmail.com
