Dear Members,
We are delighted to advise that at the Marina Industry Association Awards conducted at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia last night, SoPYC was a finalist in three categories. The categories are:
  • Best Community Engagement by a Marina
  • Best Boat Yard – Under 20 Boats
  • Club of the Year
SoPYC was announced as the winner of the Best Community Engagement by a Marina, which is a significant recognition within the Australian marine industry of SoPYC’s initiative of establishing the role of Elder in-Residence, Marie Taylor, and acknowledging the Club’s location and proximity to land of cultural significance – Goolugatup Heathcote land - and the lands strong indigenous history.

We were pipped at the post in the other categories:
  • Best Boat Yard – Under 20 Boats: Fenwicks, a family boat yard at Birkenhead, Sydney NSW
  • Club of the Year – Royal Motor Yacht Club, Broken Bay NSW
Our congratulations to these two winning Clubs.
