Dear member,
We are delighted to advise that the centreboard showers and toilets were completed yesterday and handed back to the Club. I would like to thank 'Total Project Solutions' for the great job they have done on the project and Gordon Roe who was the club contact through the project. Not least, Rebecca, the architect from 'Bex Design' who is working with the club on two more projects, the kitchen extension and administration office concept planning.

The showers and toilets will be available to members from Saturday (21st November).

There are a few cosmetic items to be finished off but these won’t have an impact on the facilities or members use of the facilities.

There are some things to be aware off when using the toilets.

As part of the upgrade, we have a new Universal Access Toilet (UAT) which is at the entry to the ladies facilities. This will be a great facility for our sailability sailors and their carers. Two things to note about the UAT. Firstly, there is an alarm for anyone using the toilet to call for assistance should they be in difficulty. A red light above the door and a sound will notify members and staff of any difficulties. And, secondly, there is a baby change table in the room. It is advisable for parents to lock the door when using the changing facilities. The lock is found on the opposite wall which has a series of coloured buttons to open/lock the access door.

Within all the areas, the seats to the toilets have self-closing lids so they don’t need to be pushed down to close the lids.

We hope you enjoy the new facilities.

General Manager
