Members continue to win big over East in the Nationals!
We have concluded our class national titles yesterday with some great results for WASS, WAIS and WA sailors as a whole.
The Laser boys performed really well. Michael Compton and Stefan Elliot Shircore were 1 and 2 Youth males in a red hot Radial Fleet and Toby Coote was first Australian in the 4.7.
In the 29ers, Axel Fleet and Kieran Bucktin have finished in 2nd Aussie. They dominated all week but slipped up with a UFD in the finals. With only one drop, it left them open to be match raced in the final race. This happened but the boys fought hard to only drop 1 place down the leaderboard and very nearly win. They will be hard to beat this week at the Youth Nationals. We also had 2 other teams in the top 10 with strong performances.
Our girls worked hard and I am sure they’ll keep improving through to next week. In the Nacra 15 Georgia Payne and Nathan Bryant finished a close 2nd.
This next week is the 2020 Youth Nationals where our Laser Radial, 4.7, 29er, Nacra 15's and 420's will compete. Spots on the Youth Worlds Team are up from grabs and it will be a hard fought week.
