It’s pleasing to see boat audits rolling in via Yacht Safe. If you’re having problems submitting your form, it is more than likely because an item or field has not been completed and is still red. An example is shown below. In the anchor section, if this item is not applicable, and you have ticked the relevant box on the right, also include a ‘dash’ or ‘N/A’ in the rectangular field on the left, then the field will turn from red to green.

HEAD COACH REPORT
It’s been a busy week getting sailors ready for their Overseas regattas and the WA Club Conference and Instructor Conferences over the weekend.
The Club Conference was very informative and covered a lot of things including, how Australian Sailing’s WA branch is helping WA sailors and clubs; Successful Marketing of Club Events, SailPass alternative membership, injury prevention and new initiatives to grow our membership base. Many of these we have been discussing at SoPYC for a while
The Instructor Conference included: Research-based proposed changes to training drills for Tackers, Child Safeguarding Workshops and Managing Conflict and Difficult People.
Hope we don’t need this one too much, but some really good skills were gained.
For our competing sailing, in the 29ers, Axel and Kieran representing SoPYC and WAIS are coming 22nd with a 1, 7 and 15 in a 175 boat regatta split into 4 groups. Good start to the regatta and look forward to seeing more. Results can be followed here

In the Laser Radial Youth World Championship, SoPYC and WAIS member Zac Littlewood is coming 3rd after 8 races, which follows his recent 2nd in the World Youth Title in Poland last week. Michael Compton is coming 15th and Stefan 28th. Both also SoPYC and WASS members. Well done in a hot 54 boat Gold fleet.
