RACE TO GERALDTON Friday evening’s briefing was full of optimism. Flying Fifteen Fleet Update 15 October 2019
|
Two Club Championship heats, two bullets for the Jerwood/Sheridan team in Ineffable where, unfortunately for the mere mortals in our fleet, luck had nothing to do with the result. There was enough west in the breeze so that those that went right were right (up front) but those who went left were left (behind). Rear Commodore Carl and Kristine got closer than anyone to Ineffable with a strong second in the first race with Faffin
|
Great to see some new old faces re-joining the fleet after a couple of seasons away. Pete Burtenshaw has purchased 3935 from John Hassen and is again sailing the diminutive (not) Travis and Lillo has taken delivery of Spot the Difference and had Ed Repsevicius back at the front end.

Above: Richard and Duncan (3781 – The sails office) nail the pin end for the start of race 2. Interestingly, the skipper of the moth in the foreground is Dave Tucker previous owner of 3781.

What a fabulous way to spend a Sunday – cruising up the Swan and then picnicking at Lilac Hill Park. The weather was perfect as eight boats carrying lots of us including four dogs, cruised up to Lilac Hill Park which is nestled in the Swan Valley. A big thanks to Jan Becker for organising our fabulous day …
