COUNT BACK DECIDES SHERWELL TROPHY WINNER. Perfect conditions greeted the first consistency time trial for the season – the Sherwell Memorial Trophy. With some of the fancied runners out of action due to a bachelor party at Rottnest, some skippers thought they had a better chance of a podium finish. It was tight competition in perfect conditions. SoPYC WHEEL CLAMPS
Members are very conscious that summer is a time of high demand for parking and the cause of considerable frustration.
|
Contractors and members are falling into the bad habit of parking in short term bays for extended periods. Whilst they have been spoken to, it seems moving cars and vans to the main car park is inconvenient so in an effort to reinforce the parking signage, a wheel clamp is being used to assist in the control of parking limits. Members have 20 minutes to occupy short term bays in front of jetty 2 and jetty 3. Contractors are permitted to park in these bays between 8.00am and 4.00pm although it is preferred that the main car parking areas are used. Trailers shall not be left, whether attached or unattached to vehicles, in the 20-minute parking bays.
|
A clamp removal fee of $165 is required to release vehicles from the clamp which will be done during working hours only.
|
The clamp is located on the eastern wall of the clubhouse ready for use.
|
Please observe the parking rules of the Club and don’t be amongst the first to have it fitted to your vehicle this season.

Audio Bird Deterrents at SoPYC
At a recent Management Committee meeting it was resolved that audio bird deterrents would be banned from the Club. Audio devices interrupt other members right to quiet enjoyment of the Club facilities and thus have been banned as a form of bird control. Other methods that you may wish to install that do not emit noise include:
|
- Bird sweep or spider
- Netting
- Holographic ribbon
- Fishing line positioned to interrupt their perch
