Thank You Mary-Anne Reid

Not only did Mary-Anne Reid compete in the challenging six-race Tally Hobbs Memorial Regatta hosted by South of Perth Yacht Club over two days last weekend, but she volunteered to cater for the food requirements for the whole event – and my goodness, didn’t she deliver!

After Saturday’s racing in difficult weather conditions, competitors were greeted with Mary-Anne’s home-made sausage rolls, followed by delicious roast beef and gravy rolls and fresh home-made salads. Refreshments were also provided.

Sunday morning’s race program was run in unexpected westerly breezes with close, enjoyable racing in all three races. We can only marvel at how it was possible for Mary-Anne to serve hot sausage rolls to competitors immediately after they finished, while Richard Blaquiere manned the BBQ to make hot dogs available to all. Just when everyone thought it was over, Mary-Anne returned with a collection of cheeses, cakes and a trifle that was to die for.

Mary-Anne – you are a true legend in this Club! Our thanks to you for an unbelievably generous contribution to this event.

We want to make a small token of our appreciation – Please collect a $100 dinner voucher from the front office so that after feeding so many yourself, you can enjoy a meal at the Club without the hard work of preparing and serving it!
