Please note that there will be now a discard after every 5 races for each Midweek Series. Previously there was a discard after every 6 races. This should encourage participation by allowing boats to stay in the hunt longer improving the odds somewhat.

Combined Clubs Invitational Series

The next race in this series will be on this Saturday. Division 1 will be at SoPYC while Division 2 will be racing at RFBYC. For further information including SSIs, please click here.

Hardcopies of the SSIs will be available from the foyer outside the OWG office.

Red Witch Marathon Race

The first of 2 scheduled marathon races starts this Saturday. For the latest information, please click here. Hardcopies of the SSIs are available from the foyer outside the OWG office.

Odyssey Expeditions Twilight Series

We’ve been fortunate not only in securing some top quality sponsorship for this season’s Twilight Series but also having run an abandoned-free series so far. With 10 races remaining, there’s still a chance to be in the running for a holiday for two exploring the Kimberley Coast and all you have to do is sail your boat in the Twilights.

Racing recommence the following Wednesday, 15 January. To enter your boat in the series, click here.

TRAINING COURSES

First Aid Courses

Need to brush up on your First Aid skills? St John Ambulance will be running a full day course (Provide First Aid certificate) on Tues 28th July 2020 and for those requiring only a CPR Refresher, there will be a course running on Tues 21st July 2020. Interested? Please click here for further information. Numbers are limited.

RST Course for Women

Did you know that out of the 270,000 RST holders in WA, only 17% are women? SoPYC recognise the need to encourage our female members to confidently take up skippering of power boats and in so doing are offering an RST course for women only. Club Member and highly qualified and experienced Tracey Leveridge-Smith will take you through everything you need to know. Want to know more? Please click here.

SoPYC Crew Finder

Users of the Crew Finder service available on the website (click here) may be pleased to know that we have now two Crew Coordinators diligently working on matching crew with boats.

If you’re looking to join a crew on a boat, the online registration has become much simpler and as soon as you submit your request, either Brian Saleeba or Bruce Uren will be in contact to get you onboard as soon as possible.

Skippers can now add a photo of their boat when registering their call out for new crew. The boat listing is now auto generated and sorted by registration date.
