De-bricking of the quarterdeck or “My Back Hurts” – By Brian Cross

An opportunity to get the new floor on the quarterdeck became available last Monday and with less than a week’s notice, Thank you Commodore. The Bosun’s club needed to find some help real quick. A call to arms by Bob Harrap quickly rallied 15 members to the club last Thursday to urgently get the 16,000 bricks up before the concrete contractor turned up on Monday.

A couple of pallets were done by Bob, Brian & Judi and as a result it was thought that 2 days should knock it off. However, we were way out on our production plan and the team managed the job in about 5 hours finishing at about 13:30hrs including both morning tea and lunch supplied by Judi Cross.

Below is a galley of the event including the concrete going down…

The quarterdeck is also getting new lighting – here’s the wiring going in.
