Congratulations to Brazen (498), the best of the SoPYC fleet with 8 points lost. Skipper Tracy Leveridge-Smith with navigator hubby,  Anthony Smith,  zipped around the course at a breezy 15 knots to be in second position in provisional results. Thanet (403), PC Guy Skinner and Richard Evans, by contrast sedately travelled the course at a cosy 6 knots and only a point more with 9 points lost, currently third in provisional results.  Congratulations to both boats.  With rain looking like dampening the day, the fleet of 38 boats set off on the course in chilly conditions.  After the event, back in the warmth of the bar, guests were welcomed by the Commodore of Royal Perth Yacht Club, and many of our members enjoyed sliders, fish and chips, chatting and social distancing while waiting for results to be posted. Four of our kindred clubs were represented.

Next week it’s our turn to host.

Some platters of  hors d’oeuvres will be available on arrival in the Wardroom, so come into the Clubhouse and enjoy a complimentary snack as well as live music with a vocalist/guitarist to add some entertainment.  Meals will be available from the Club’s regular a la carte menu in the Ballroom afterwards, but it will be necessary to book.  You can book for dinner on the Time Trial nomination form. Once the limit is reached, further bookings cannot be accepted, so it will be strictly “first come – first served”. See you there!
