Navigator Skippers Time Trial

Oops! Cookie stuffs up the clock for second year, earning team M&M’s a wooden spoon and port with score of 468 points.

The Navigator /Skippers event attracted 20 teams with the usual mix of experienced skippers and complete novices. It’s amusing to listen to the relieved novice navigators recognising how hard it is to keep time. In Cookie’s case, he stuffed the run up timing again, resulting in poor Maria unknowingly being late at every mark.

Results:

Team Purrfect with experienced and confident Skipper, Lynne Cooper at the wheel and John calling the time, won the least points flag with 12 points lost. Having family with kids onboard again proving no distraction.

Nikki Kukura, skippering  Foxy Lady III with Alan Wilson navigating took 2nd flag with 24 points.

3rd place on 25 points was team Brazen. Another experienced skipper, Anthony Smith with wife Tracy navigating in their open outboard tender boat. Great effort to be on the podium despite a 10 point penalty at the finish for change of speed.

Excessive & erratic speeds at the start line caught the eye of the start team and earned skipper Annie McClusky and new member Jim Henry navigating onboard La Barca the Bent Prop award and the port.
