Congratulations Thanet $500 winners cheque !

Thanet, Dalusional and Illusion competed in the historic Perth Flying Squadron Yacht Club’s ‘Cork Evans’ Time Trial. The Sunday morning invitation event started at 10am followed by results and lunch. Least points lost (5) and winning skipper, PC Guy Skinner was on volunteer coach duties in the afternoon back at SoPYC, so missed the presentations. The Women’s Squad sailors were audience for the afternoon presentation in the yachties bar of the cheque and LP burgee by RC Troy Dalglish .

Troy Skippering Dalusional with the borrowed,  ‘one-eyed’ navigator Amanda Watson, was 3rd and  Ian Staples with champion navigator Caroline James onboard Illusion were 4th outright. Prizes were awarded to visitor fleets and PFSYC fleet. SoPYC teams 1st, 2nd & 3rd in a clean sweep.  A little green boat named Kermit came up from Mandurah for the event.

Our very own Bernie Kaaks was navigator for his daughter Jeni Sach skippering.

MOFSC have a time trial fleet and compete fortnightly during the season over 6 events.

Many of our SoPYC member / volunteers  also helped out at Squadie.

Garry Morrison was official Race Officer/ starter with the trusted crew of PC Frank and Barb Dalglish& Margaret Cooper. Onboard Heathcote, the club support boat, were Greg and Valerie Power and Jenny Pretty who were both courier boat and manned a checkpoint. Other SoPYC members on land check point duty were Brian and Tina Smith, Lana Kaaks and crew and Mal Taylor who checked Concrete Spit onboard Detour.   Thank you to all our dedicated Time Trial volunteers
