What’s different this week? Well, there are no more Twilights. Twilight’s have finished and life will never be the same. However, just to spice things up a little, Division 1 will have another chance to fly spinnakers in the Jane Brook Wines Midweek Series on Wednesday.
Royal Perth Yacht Club are running the 57th Cape Naturaliste Return Race starting off Fremantle this Friday at 1800. Chris Hind’s revamped Sagacious IV will be representing the Club and we wish him and his crew all the best.

Saturday’s Keelboat schedule does not include the H28s. Instead these boats will be competing in the Swan River Retro Series on Sunday. This race will be for the Eun Na Mara Trophy, starting at 1330 mid river and finishing at SoPYC. If you are down at the Club on Sunday expect to see a collection of classic wooden boats tied up in front of the Club.
There is a change to Bravo Course presentations. Bravo sailors will have their presentations in front of the Centreboard Clubhouse at 1600 after racing on Sundays.
There have been a few changes to the program lately and it would be advisable to check the Notice to Competitors below.
Now for a bit of housekeeping. The remote for the new Hisense tv in the Bar has gone missing. If anyone knows of its whereabouts please inform a staff member. No questions asked. Complete amnesty. Mum’s the word.

SATURDAY SERIES
If you’re looking for maximum speed, then the Saturday Series can provide. This is the day where boats require all hands on deck to handle the fast downwind runs experienced when the Freo Doctor’s strong summer sea breezes kick in and colourful ballooning spinnakers fill the river.

OFF THE BEACH BOATS
Held every Sunday afternoon during the summer season, a number of sailing classes compete over two separate courses – one for the junior classes with a mix of training and racing while the other course caters for youth and senior sailors using laid marks and back to back racing.

REMOTE CONTROL YACHT RACING
There is a regular group of Members who meet each Friday afternoon at 3pm on the Western Hardstand for a couple of hours of intense racing and camaraderie.
Visitors are warmly welcomed to sit and watch or even give it a go. You only need to ask.

EQUIPMENT AUDIT FORMS
Skippers, please note that your Equipment Audit Forms have now expired as of June 30. To be eligible to compete in the new season starting from Opening Day on Oct 4, a new Equipment Form must be submitted online. Most, if not all Skippers have had their previous Audit form submitted online via YachtSafe already, so it should be relatively easy to resubmit a new form in time for your first race of the new season and the good news is that you can view your previous form in Past Audits on your YachtSafe dashboard.
