Coming up this week is race 3 of the Jane Brook Wines Midweek Winter Series, DF95 Radio Sailing on Friday and The Good Grocer Frostbite Series continues on Sunday.

Some of you may have noticed one of the channel markers a little shorter than normal (click here). An isolated danger buoy is now located at the stumpy marker and a temporary notice to mariners has been issued. Scroll to bottom of this bulletin for all NTMs.

Rick Steuart (Perth Sailing Photography) has also been busy capturing all the action on the river from Sunday’s Off The Beach Winter Series. Please click here. Sunday wrapped up the series for the Lasers, Optimists, Open Skiffs and 29ers while the Flying Fifteens, Windsurfer LTs and 125s have their final day on Sunday 22 August.

SoPYC are looking forward to hosting the inaugural WA Womens Match Racing Championship from 16 to 19 September 2021 with the racing set as close to the clubhouse as possible. Invitations have been sent out to all sailing clubs in the state and so far the response has been positive. Click here to find out more.

Attention Midweek sailors: Just as a general bit of advice, following the start and when the RPYC boats are charging down towards Foam Buoy for the first time, do try to keep well clear of that area otherwise your pleasant afternoon sail could turn into a real demolition derby. We want to avoid ugly scenes like this, so after rounding Sampson Spit, pass Foam Buoy (55) to starboard and stay safe.

Alright, that’s it. Let’s roll!     Hey, let’s be careful out there.

Notice to Competitors

Please keep checking here for important race information for both Keelboats and Off The Beach Boats.

EQUIPMENT AUDIT FORMS

Skippers, please note that your Equipment Audit Forms have now expired as of June 30. To be eligible to compete in the new season starting from Opening Day on Oct 3, a new Equipment Form must be submitted online. Most, if not all Skippers have had their previous Audit form submitted online via YachtSafe already, so it should be relatively easy to resubmit a new form in time for your first race of the new season and the good news is that you can view your previous form in Past Audits on your YachtSafe dashboard.

YACHT TRACKERS

The ability to replay club fleet races is now available. Try the free Yacht Bot tracking software yourself. It can be downloaded and installed on your smartphone or tablet via an App. If you interested and don’t mind taking your electronic device with you on the water, please let us know. Past races can be viewed using the button below.
