A new campaign encouraging people to #EatAloneTogether has been launched by Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA), in partnership with some of Australia’s most high profile food industry personalities. They’re calling for all Australian’s to unite and support their local restaurants, cafes, eateries and artisan food producers that have been greatly affected by the COVID-19 restrictions.

The campaign encourages people to order from their favourite food service venues and share a meal online, using the hashtag #EatAloneTogether. People can keep celebrating those special moments and share meals together, plus support their local venues.

Australian Pork’s Mitch Edwards is part of the campaign and he said it was a no-brainer to get involved in the campaign.

“This is a really difficult period for our industry but this campaign seeks to get Aussies supporting their local restaurants. I’m encouraging people to treat themselves tonight, encourage their friends to do the same and order in to support our foodservice industry.”

#EatAloneTogether is about celebrating togetherness with food while supporting your local restaurant, café or eatery. The call from R&CA along with some of it’s most high-profile chefs, restaurateurs and entertainment personalities is to continue to enjoy our favourite pastime, and only together we will help our favourite local culinary business survive.
