Injury Prevention (IP)

As part of a Structured Learning Methodology (SLM) approach to training at SoPYC, we have 5 Pillars forming the curriculum being:

  • Sailor
  • Technique
  • Tactics – Strategy
  • Environment and
  • Boat

Below is some information on the first point “Sailor” regarding Physical Preparation for Sailing.

I have borrowed a few exercises from WAIS to help with Injury Prevention and Conditioning.  The research shows that consistent physical training is important not only to improve fitness, strength and success but have a much less chance of injury.

Has anyone hurt themselves when they start doing something new after a long spell?  This is for you!
