The final races of the Schweppes Applecross Cup were sailed under warm clear skies with light breezes from most directions – a typical Perth spring day. In contrast, the cold, overcast, windy weather experienced by our members competing in the World Championships is more akin to an Irish winter than summer! Don’t ever complain about where we live and sail.

Back to local matters and Greg and Lillo (Spot the Difference) won 7 of the 10 races to secure the Applecross Cup for 2019. They may have won more races had the navigator not been AWOL when needed most. Karen and Russell (Second Breakffast) and David and Mary-Anne (Double Nickel) kept them honest and finished second and third respectively.

Great to see Rear Commodore Stone back in action on Final Fling after his rigging incident last month and Vice Commodore Cook took a while to straighten out after being folded up in the cockpit of Eagle Eye.

Thank you to everyone who made this a great regatta on and off the water.
