Strangely, there were a few tired bodies at the end of Sunday’s sailing and plenty of stories to tell if the volume in the bar afterwards is anything to go by. Spot The Difference (Greg and Alex) were fastest in each race with winning margins of about a minute. Lots of results to be found in the usual place.

Flashpoint had Paul Dunbar on board as crew for the first time and their results improved over the 3 races to the point where they won the last race on consistency and are pictured receiving their pennants from Vice Commodore Midolo and Rear Commodore Pettersson. A question hangs over the source of Rookie’s left eye. Is it:

  1. Paul’s right elbow? (battered skipper syndrome)
  2. Being over exuberant with the mascara?
  3. Chasing parked cars by bicycle?
  4. Things that go bump in the night?

We welcomed Dave Roberts to our fleet this week as he steered Ffollow Us in Tim’s absence. Dave has bought a Flying Fifteen from Canberra and is currently awaiting delivery and should be ready for the New Year.

Crowbar became a Grandpa and was awarded the port by Rear Commodores Cooke and Pettersson. The latest addition to the Grover dynasty was born in London and congratulations also go to Meryl.

Rose Midolo spent more time starting races on the water over the weekend than on dry land with the Viper State Championships and Sunday’s racing and was duly awarded the champagne.

Rear Commodore Pettersson was doing his best “rabbit in the headlights” imitation while loitering near the bell on the occasion of his birthday. Well done Carl on 50 and a bit years.

The last sail of the year is next weekend with multiple races starting at 1325hrs followed ( after results ) by the Flying Fifteen Christmas Party in the Centreboard Clubhouse. Details have been circulated by Fleet Captain Tim.
