You wouldn’t normally pick a north-westerly to finish off the season (not that we had much choice) and some were more awake to the foibles of a breeze from that quadrant. RC Carl and Kristine were anything but RC (sorry – dad joke!) picking the left-hand side on the third beat to slip into the lead and win their first race for the season from Andy and Anne (A2) and Sandy and Greg (Fly In The Ointment). The second race reminded us all why Nick and Brad (Ineffable) are the new State Champions by being in the lead when it counted from Tim and Plonky (Ffollow Us) in second and Kim and Neil (Aussie Way) third.
After a post-race sherbert courtesy of sponsors Wilson and Hassen, it was off to results and dinner. Thanks to the bar and catering staff for sorting out a great location even though we exceeded our dinner booking number by a couple of bodies.
