A Stunning Day at Pig Trough Bay

The Cruising Section boaties enjoyed a stunning day at Pig Trough Bay on Garden Island last Saturday.  With light winds, it was an easy cruise over there and back with plenty of moorings to tie up on.

The weather was perfect to enjoy drinkies around the BBQ and a picnic under the tree with lots of laughter and solve the problems of the world!  We were all very grateful that we didn’t have the same drama as last year when a 38 foot boat became stuck on a sand bar close to shore. With the tide going out, we tried (to no avail) for quite a while to get it off.  Eventually Cockburn Sea Rescue was contacted and sorted them out the next day.

A big thank you goes to Jan Becker, our Cruising Section Vice-Captain for organising this great event.

Our next event will be a lunch at Rotto on Saturday 14 March.

Don’t forget to read “Coffee Pointers” and download the Team App www.teamapp.com and search for “SoPYC Cruising Section App – Ahoy!” to get notifications of our Cruising Section events.
