WA State Time Trialling Season Hots Up

Competing boats from five clubs lined up on the Swan River for the Cruising and Power Yacht Committee State Heat #2 event on Saturday the 23rd of June with good weather and a large fleet of 50 competing boats some new winners have emerged onto the scene. Championship boat on the day from Claremont Yacht Club was Sansterre Skipper Chas Milner and Navigator Ann Caddick with least points score of 3 followed by second place boat Purrfect Skipper John Cooper and Navigator Lynne Cooper from South of Perth Yacht Club with a score of 6 points followed by third-place Queste from Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club Skipper Hamish Beck and Navigator Cameron Cox with 7points on a countback with a four-way tie with Thanet, Time Out and Sunhunter all from South of Perth Yacht Club. Heat 2 Consistency winner went to Skipper Alex Hughes with Navigator Rob Weight with a score of 22pts (-8.16) aboard Nereus(CYC). Winning team on the day went to the South of Perth Yacht Club scoring 15.5 with second place to Claremont Yacht Club scoring 30.25 and in third place Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club team gaining 36.5 points for the day. The days’ race was followed by a dinner hosted by the South of Perth Yacht Club to award Heat 1 and Heat 2 winners and acknowledge volunteers, the committee and sponsors for the two events and was a very enjoyable evening.
