Post event Jetty camaraderie is arguably the best part of time trialling. Once the event is over, boats back in the pens, out come the nibbles and drinks.

Colin Wilson’s daughters, Megan and Sue, were honoured to present the trophies on a special day to remember their father’s amazing contribution to the Club. Colin was a Life Member, Past Commodore and General Manager-Secretary and a champion of Power section since joining in 1962. Col was a committed member of the Power Start team into his 90’s.

Steve Biscoe, new owner of Open Circuit, was thrilled to accept his “First Timer” port and not as he’d feared, for wooden spoon!

The eagle eyed and experienced check pointer, Garry Morrison, behind the binoculars, penalised 3 boats with the new 3-point penalty for changes of speed at Nedlands Spit.  The start box crew pinged a fourth boat.

Vern and Judy Bailey were thrilled with a first flag in the starboard fleet with 10 points. Penalised with CoS at the start but still coming in second with 12 was Time Out and Purrfect 3rd with 13 on handicap.

In the Port fleet Neredes II won the first flag with 11pts, Tikkityboo second 13pts, and Indiana 3rd with 16pts.

Amazon, Steve Wall and Amanda Watson, also pinged with the new 3-point penalty to add to the 3 points lost around the course drew with Purrfect, John and Lynne Cooper, for the Colin Wilson Trophy with least points of 6.

This Saturday is the first of the CPYC State Heat series. There is no official dinner or presentations after the event.

Results will be published on sportspage as soon as calculated at about 7pm.

A suggested post event raft up is postponed as our weather wizards say the winds might be up on Saturday afternoon. Still bring along your post event nibbles and drinks to share on the jetty.
