Another Great Long Weekend!

6 boats and 25 people enjoyed the absolutely fabulous weather and cruised to the Cockburn Power Boat Association (CPBA).  Some cruised down on Friday evening and Saturday with others driving down on Saturday and Sunday.  The CPBA is set in a perfect location overlooking Cockburn Sound with beautiful clear waters and even some friendly dolphins coming to greet us.

Thank you again to Dave and Fonny Ewart “Fonster” and Stephen and Olga Mawhinney with their new boat “Sea Eagle” for offering their boats and wonderful hospitality for all of us to boat hop between them over the weekend.  As usual there was much laughter and friendship over the odd drink or two!

On Sunday evening we had a booking for the 25 of us to go up to the club and enjoy a traditional roast while we enjoyed watching the beautiful sunset over Cockburn Sound. From 4 – 7pm Tommy James provided great music while we ate and enjoyed ourselves.

A big thank you goes to the staff at CPBA for being so helpful, friendly and making us feel very welcome.  From the comments of our SoPYC members, I don’t think it will be too long before we go back again for another great weekend.

Thank you again to the Cruising Committee, especially to our Captain Jan Becker and Dave Ewart for organising another successful event at another excellent venue.  Also a big thank you to all the 25 people who came along to make it a great weekend and to support the Cruising Section’s event.  Don’t forget to read your Coffee Pointers e-newsletter to check our next great day out!
